Fireman Apprentice Cordova was a crew member of the Amphibious Assault Ship USS VALLEY FORGE (LPH-8). On January 27, 1968 during "Operation Badger Catch", he was Killed in Action near Dong Hoi, South Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
