In 2008, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency exhumed the comingled remains of three Unknown Soldiers buried in Plot A Row 17 Grave 5 at Ardennes American Cemetery with the belief that identifications could be made. DNA analysis and historical evidence were used to positively identify the remains as belonging to Pfc. Lawrence N. Harris, Cpl. Judge C. Hellums, and Pvt. Donald D. Owens. Harris' name is permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Epinal American Cemetery.
