Lt. Cmdr. Larry R. Kilpatrick, U.S. Naval Reserve, was a member of Attack Squadron 105, Carrier Air Wing 3 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS SARATOGA (CV-60). On June 18, 1972, he was the pilot of a Vought Attack Aircraft Corsair II (A-7A) over North Vietnam when his aircraft crashed. His remains were not recovered at the time. Through the work of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, the remains of Lt. Cmdr. Kilpatrick were accounted for in 2018. His name is permanently inscribed in the “Courts of the Missing” at the Honolulu Memorial.
