Private First Class Kuhns was a patrol leader in "Ikeda's Raiders" Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Kumchon, South Korea on September 24, 1950.
