Lieutenant Junior Grade Niedecken, U.S. Naval Reserve, was a member of Attack Squadron 105, Carrier Air Wing 11 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS KITTY HAWK (CVA-63). On February 15, 1969, he was the pilot of a Vought Attack Aircraft Corsair II (A-7A) over Laos when his aircraft crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
