Corporal Richter was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was seriously wounded while fighting the enemy in Korea on September 20, 1950 and returned to duty on October 27, 1950. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on February 14, 1951.
