Major Tejeda was a crew member of a RB-50 reconnaissance bomber assigned to the 91st Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron. On July 29, 1953, his aircraft was shot down by two Soviet MiG-15's over the Sea of Japan. There was one survivor, 3 known dead and 13 missing. He was presumed dead on November 15, 1955.
