Originally listed as Missing in Action, SGT Zimmerman's name was permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial. Later SGT Zimmerman's remains were recovered, identified and interred at the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery.
