Notes
Corporal Stapleton was a member of Company M, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was seriously wounded and taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Unsan, North Korea on November 2, 1950 and taken to a prisoner of war camp on the Yalu River. He died while a prisoner on February 17, 1951 of pneumonia.
