Flanders Field American Cemetery in Belgium will host a ceremony on October 27, 2018 at 3 p.m. to mark the 100th anniversary of American operations in Belgium during World War I. Attendance is free and open to the public.
Important information for those attending the ceremony:
- Parking restrictions near the cemetery will be in place beginning on October 27, 2018 at 12:30 p.m., and road closures will be in place beginning at 2 p.m. Only those with special parking passes will be permitted in certain restricted areas. See the map for details.
- The visitor center will be closed to the public on October 27, 2018 beginning at 2:30 p.m. The visit center will reopen on October 28, 2018 at 9 a.m.
- Restrooms will be available behind the visitor center building.
- Plot B and C will be closed to the public during the ceremony.
- For those decorating graves, please place all flowers prior to the start of the ceremony.
