Secretary of the American Battle Monuments Commission William M. Matz attends 75th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge events in Bastogne

On December 14, 2019, ABMC Secretary William M. Matz traveled to Bastogne, Belgium.

Secretary Matz had lunch with World War II veterans; visited the Mardasson Monument that ABMC helped clean for this week’s ceremonies; and laid a wreath during a ceremony at the Gen. Patton Memorial. Secretary Matz also visited with Soldiers from the famed 101st Airborne Division, of which he is a veteran. During his engagements, Secretary Matz expressed that for ABMC and our staff, our mission is a sacred duty and the importance of remembering those who served and those who sacrificed.
