Private First Class Chubb was a member of Company B, 101st Aviation Battalion, 101st Airborne Division. On March 20, 1971, he was flying in a Bell Iroquois Utility Helicopter (UH-1H) extracting ARVN troops about 20 miles west of Khe San when his aircraft was hit by enemy fire, exploded and crashed killing him. His remains were recovered on December 5, 2002 and identified on August 30, 2005. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
