Sergeant First Class Clatterbuck was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken prisoner on February 13, 1951 in South Korea and left when he could not keep up on the march to North Korea. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on March 5, 1954. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
