Lieutenant Clements served with the 468th Strategic Fighter Squadron, U.S. Air Force. He was listed as Missing after his aircraft crashed in waters off Japan on April 16, 1953. His remains were recovered on June 29, 1992 and was identified on April 28, 1993. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
