Captain Conner was an Episcopal Chaplain serving Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while ministering his troops at Hill 1221 on the eastern shore of the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea on December 1, 1950. He was presumed dead on March 8, 1954. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
