Second Lieutenant Delcambre was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 160th Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division. On June 14, 1952, he voluntarily led a night patrol to determine the enemy's position near Kumsong, North Korea. His patrol came under enemy fire and withdrew. He was initially listed as Missing in Action. Later it was determined he had been Killed although his remains were never recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
