Notes

Sergeant Gibson was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On December 1, 1950, he was taken Prisoner of War while delaying the Chinese forces to permit the withdrawal of the Division to Sunchon, North Korea. He died while a prisoner on June 21, 1951 of malnutrition. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
