Corporal Grifford was awarded the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes

Corporal Grifford was a member of Service Battery, 37th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Kunu-ri, North Korea on November 30, 1950 and died while a prisoner on February 6, 1951. CPL Grifford's remains have been recovered and identified. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery. CPL Grifford's name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
