Sergeant O'Boyle was a member of Company C, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on February 12, 1951 and returned to duty on March 10, 1951. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near the 38th Parallel on May 18, 1951. He died in Prison Camp #1 Hospital, Chang-Song on November 30, 1951.
