Master Sergeant Raught was a member of Company D, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On February 12, 1951, after an initial advance north of Wonju, South Korea, a massive attack by Chinese forces was launched. He was listed as Missing in Action while defending his position was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
