Private First Class Reese was a member of Battery C, 15th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy along the Naktong River Line in South Korea on August 11, 1950. He was reportedly murdered in a tunnel near Sunchon, North Korea on October 20, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
