Staff Sergeant Robinson was a member of Company E, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. On March 12, 1969, he was serving as point man of a five man reconnaissance team about 10 miles west-northwest of Dak To, Kontum Province, South Vietnam. He became separated from the patrol during a firefight and was listed as missing. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
