Major Rodarme was the commander of Company A, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On May 18, 1951, the Chinese launched a vicious attack on the positions of Company A on Hill 1051 near Panmegi-ri, South Korea. During this courageous defense, Major Rodarme was killed.
