Sergeant First Class Slight was a member of Company M, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy along the Nammyoon River near Unsan, North Korea on November 2, 1950. His remains were recovered on July 16, 1993 and identified on October 10, 2010. 1SGT Slight's name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
