Notes

USMA Class of 1946, Captain Vester was a member of Headquarters Battery, 15th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. As a member of "Task Force Keith", he was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Hoengsong, South Korea on February 13, 1951 and died as a prisoner on May 31, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
