Sergeant First Class Zahorik was a member of Company C, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on July 28, 1950 and returned to duty on September 15, 1950. He died of other causes near the Han River in the Seoul area in South Korea on March 8, 1951.
