Specialist, Fourth Class Zollicoffer was a member of United States Army, Vietnam. On April 24, 1972, he was extracted from Tanh Canh base camp near Dak To, Kontum Province, South Vietnam in a Bell Iroquois Utility Helicopter (UH-1H). The aircraft was hit by enemy fire and crashed on a small island in the Dak Poko River. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
